Gospel and Spade

Exploring Biblical History and Archaeology

Tom Baker was born in London, England and moved to Ireland when he was a teenager and has lived there ever since. He came to know the Lord as his Saviour in Summer 2005 after reading a Gospel tract. He joined the Good News Baptist Church, Mullingar in 2007 and has been a member of the church ever since.

Since joining the church, he has gone on to earn a B.A. in Divinity (2014) and a M.A in Biblical Studies (2015) from Bible Baptist Theological Seminary, Cromwell, CT, USA. He has also recently earned a B.A in Ancient History and Archaeology from Trinity College, Dublin. He is hoping to continue his education in the future.

Tom has been an active member of the Good News Baptist Church since joining. He has been involved in many different ministries in the church, including teaching and preaching to both children and adults on a regular basis. Tom has also frequently preached, and pulpit supplied in many different churches in Ireland, England and the USA and feels that God would have him to teach God’s Word and the things relating to it.

Tom also has a very strong interest in biblical history and archaeology. He has (so far) visited biblical related sites in Egypt, Jordan, Israel, Turkey and Italy. He has taught on the subject in different churches in Ireland, England and the USA and is open and willing to preach about the topic in other churches as the Lord opens doors.

He has also started a YouTube Channel called Gospel and Spade where he creates weekly videos dealing with biblical history and archaeology from a Bible believing perspective for the benefit of others. His prayer is that this online ministry will be a help and a blessing to all that come across it.
